According to the post of ZachXBT, the researcher of Anchin, these amounts were obtained through the hacking of more than 25 digital currencies.
 
Lazarus is one of the most notorious cryptocurrency hacking groups and first appeared in 2009. In total, the group has stolen more than $3 billion in crypto assets in the six years to 2023.
 
Analyzes show that the stolen funds were converted to the stablecoin Tether before being cashed and withdrawn.
 
According to ZachXBT, in November 2023, Tether added more than $374,000 worth of stolen cryptocurrency to its blacklist.
 
In addition, three out of four issuers of the stablecoin blacklisted more than $3.4 million held in a cluster of addresses associated with the Lazarus Group.
