Tether and the Reku cryptocurrency exchange are launching a nationwide roadshow in Indonesia aimed at educating the public about digital assets, with the objective of improving crypto literacy in major cities.

Tether, a leading stablecoin issuer, has partnered with Indonesian crypto exchange Reku to launch a nationwide educational campaign aimed at improving cryptocurrency literacy throughout the country.
This collaborative effort will include a roadshow that runs from September to March 2025, visiting 10 major cities such as Bali, Medan, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta, as detailed in a press release on September 4.
With this initiative, Tether, the largest stablecoin by market capitalization, aims to enhance public knowledge of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency by promoting awareness of the advantages of blockchain, crypto assets, and peer-to-peer technologies.

Tether Sets Its Sights on Indonesia's Thriving Crypto Market
Tether is launching a roadshow as Indonesia emerges as a key player in the global cryptocurrency landscape. According to Chainalysis data, the country ranked seventh in global crypto adoption in 2023. In May, Indonesia experienced a significant surge in crypto transactions, totaling 211 trillion Indonesian Rupiah (approximately $13 billion), with over 20 million registered crypto investors, as reported locally.
Reku co-CEO Jesse Choi stated that both organizations aim to "engage and educate thousands of participants through the literacy series with Tether during the educational roadshow across 10 major cities."

Enhancing Access to Crypto Education
The roadshow is a key component of Tether's comprehensive strategy to promote the adoption of digital finance in emerging markets, facilitated by the newly launched Tether EDU department dedicated to crypto education. In early August, Tether joined forces with the Africa Blockchain Institute, a blockchain think tank based in Rwanda, to extend its educational efforts to Ivory Coast.
This collaboration aims to provide blockchain education to students through workshops at five universities across the West African country, including Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny, Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny, and Pigier Business School.
